Just like that, another week has passed!

This one felt like it went strangely fast but I was posting this time last week, after all. That being considered, I may not have made the progress I had hoped to by now. I mapped out the town in my story and starting working on some of the town names and aspects involved too. Seeing as I anticipate wandering in this world I’m creating for a while there’s no better time than now to get some things in order. My Finch is still full of most of my previous tasks plus a few, rather than downsized. Though, I have been able to stay fairly consistent, despite feeling a little less enthusiastic this week.

I’ve just realized a behavior shift that may have contributed to the quick sensation in the last week. I listened to an book and a half of Sarra Cannon’s that she posted live on her YouTube channel over the last few years. It’s wonderful to finally have some insight into the written works of someone who has indirectly mentored me for the last 11 years. Unbelievable that that amount of time has passed, especially without having actually reading her stories!

Something I have always struggled with is reading, since I was little. I would find a story and read it over and over, and I didn’t stop reading primarily children’s books until I was about 20. Somehow, though, I have always been a writer, or a storyteller as I like to call it due to the discrepancy of my abilities vs interests. It is also to blame for my failing to edit my previous novels and instead opt to write new drafts from scratch until there are too many to possibly commit to any version I could be certain of.

I’m beginning to explore the world more and fill in gaps even if this is just a short story sneak peak situation, I’d rather fill the holes now than back peddle in the first full volume.

How are your goals and intentions going? Have you been able to track your shifts in output without falling fully away from a goal?

Best Wishes,

-Melody LeeMarie
